In overtime, Lafayette had the ball first. The offense was assessed a false start penalty prior to the first play and then QB Drew Reed was sacked on the first play from scrimmage. On second down, he connected with Ross Scheuerman for a short gain, but was sacked again on third down. Lafayette had the ball 4th-and-25 at the Bucknell 40. Reed's heave to Matt Matt Mrazek in the end zone was broken up, despite an acrobatic effort by Mrazek.
When Bucknell took over in overtime, the Lafayette defense saw a steady diet of C.J. Williams, as he picked up seven, zero and two yards with Chris Brockman (10 tackles) in on all three stops. On 4th-and-1, Maurer connected for the 33-yard kick that snapped Lafayette's two-game series winning streak.
Scheuerman was a standout performer for the Maroon and White, running for three touchdowns with 83 yards on 17 carries. Sophomore Tim Vangelas had a career receiving day, reeling in 10 balls for 75 yards as Reed's favorite target. Reed completed 27-of-40 for 22 yards with one interception.
