DetailsEASTON, Pa. (9/13/14) _ Three interceptions, including two for touchdowns in the first half, sparked the Lafayette football team to a 50-3 drubbing of Robert Morris.
Offensively, it was Ross Scheuerman's night despite the fact that his playing status was in doubt entering the game after suffering an injury in week one. He rushed 22 times for 173 yards and had two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. He moved into sixth place for career rushing at Lafayette with 2,549, surpassing Tony Giglio (2,519) and Jonathan Hurt (2,531).
As the second half opened, Scheuerman churned out 30 yards on five carries that led to a Forrester 37-yard field goal. The Leopards' next offensive drive Scheuerman accounted for nearly all of the offense, managing carries of eight, four and 25 yards before catching a 15-yard strike from Drew Reed to lead 36-3.
It was the largest margin of victory for Lafayette since a 49-0 win over Marist to open the 2003 season.
