#24 Lafayette at Fordham
October 25, 2008
Lafayette led the way with 484 total yards of offense, with 322 yards coming on the ground. With injuries in the backfield, freshman tailback Jerome Rudolph carried the bulk of the load with 16 carries for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Joining Rudolph in the ground assault were Matt Ferber, Greg Stripe, and Joe Russo, as each averaged over four yards per carry. Rob Curley had an efficient day (11-for-16 for 162 yards, 2 TD) finding both Russo and Rudolph for scores. The Leopards' defense surrendered its only touchdown of the game late in the third quarter. Neil Goldsmith led the team with eight tackles followed by six from Michael Schmidlein. Fordham's John Skelton hit Clayton Busch for a 14-yard touchdown pass to make it 34-13. The Leopards waited all of 10 seconds before answering, as Stripe returned the kickoff 80 yards for the touchdown and a 41-13 Lafayette advantage. For all his efforts, Stripe was named the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week.
