Lafayette vs. Holy Cross
November 10, 2007
The fourth-ranked defense in the nation held the nation's third-rated offense to 255 total yards and just eight rushing yards as Lafayette claimed a 31-21 win at Holy Cross. With fewer than five minutes left in the third quarter, the Leopards took control of the game as Rob Curley found a wide open Mike Conte who trotted in from 24 yards out to score and put Lafayette up 28-14. Holy Cross answered with a quick scoring strike of their own, scoring on three plays while covering 32 yards. The Leopards responded by opening the fourth quarter with a nine-play, 35 yard drive that ended in a career-long field goal by Davis Rodriguez. As the quarter wound down, Lafayette's defense stayed strong, stopping one Crusader drive with Nigel Bryant's second interception of the day and another time on downs. At the end of the day, 15 defensive players registered at least one tackle in the game.
Final Score: Lafayette 31, Holy Cross 21
