.EASTON, Pa. _ Led by stifling defense and Samantha Jordan_s first career double-double, the Leopards led wire-to-wire en route to upending visiting Army by a score of 54-42. Jordan_s double-double came on 11 points - sharing the game high with Madeline Fahan and Army_s Erin Anthony - and 11 rebounds. Danielle Fiacco also grabbed 11 boards in addition to six points and four blocked shots. The deciding factor in the game was the Lafayette defense, as Army shot 26 percent from the field and 16 percent from downtown. The Leopards allowed 12 points in the first half and limited Anthony, the Patriot League_s leading rebounder, to only two boards. Lafayette held Army to one field goal over the first 7:55 en route to a 12-4 lead. The Black Knights tallied the next five points to cut the score to 12-9. Fueled by points from five different players, Lafayette ripped off the next 11 tallies to extend the lead to 23-9. A three-pointer from the visitors ended the run, but the Leopards took those points back to enter the locker room leading 26-12. Army shot just 4-for-32 in the period. In the second half, the Leopards quickly extended their lead to 34-17. The Black Knights had one more run in them, posting nine straight to trim the score to 46-37, but the Leopards sank eight of their last 10 attempts from the line to clinch the win.
