EASTON, Pa. _ Holy Cross made the final run of a back-and-forth affair to claim a 72-67 win. LaKeisha Wright and Elizabeth Virgin paced the offense with 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Leopards. Lafayette dominated the boards, holding a 48-34 edge on the glass. Danielle Fiacco tore down a career-best 15 rebounds in addition to her seven points. Virgin grabbed seven rebounds as the Leopards amassed 20 offensive boards that led to 16 points. The Leopards were hindered by 20 turnovers. The Crusaders raced out to an 11-0 lead in the early stages of the game. A 12-0 run put the Leopards back in striking distance down 21-19, and the spurt extended to 34-9 over the remainder of the half as the home team entered the locker room with a 41-30 lead. The margin held at 11 points with 12:12 to play but, at that point, a 17-6 stretch saw Holy Cross come all the way back to knot the score at 59-59. Two Wright free throws reclaimed the lead for the Leopards, but Holy Cross then ran off 10 straight points to claim an eight-point advantage, 71-63, with 1:43 to go on the way to the five-point win.
